What do you do at Kala? What's the best part?
I am the Operations and Marketing Manager. Although there are so many to choose from, I think that my favorite part of my job is that I am able to be a part of so many different aspects of the company. That’s one of the things I love most about a start-up; you are able to work with all members of your team, whether they are in design or marketing, to create something amazing. Team work really does make the dream work.
Where did you go to school? Major?
I went to SUNY New Paltz. Majored in Communication Disorders and minored in Deaf studies
What’s your favorite season?
Fall for sure!
How do you get out of a creative rut?
Honestly I have to turn my brain off for a couple hours and focus on something completely different...usually Netflix. Then when I’m done, I’m full of creative ideas!
When did you realize sustainable intimates were your thing?
I think that it was a couple months after I started working for Kala. Before going into this job, I didn't know much about it, but Rebecca really opened up my eyes to what is going on in the industry and how important it was for change to happen. After that, I fell in love!
Favorite ice cream flavor/combo/toppings/order?
I LOVE the ice cream from Ample Hill! Their marshmallow flavor is my go-to! I also am obsessed with anything peanut butter and heath bar. Mix all of those together, and you have my dream combo!
Coffee or tea?
Coffee 110%! I need my morning kick.
Fall has officially begun, which means Halloween candy in the stores and sweaters back in your wardrobe rotation. Whether the temperature is dropping or not, the fall spirit is in the (not so crisp) air. The changing of season gives us the welcomed excuse to buy anything at the grocery store with the word pumpkin on it. So what better way to greet the new season than baking a treat only welcomed once a year?
If you’re like me, coffee is made twice and heaps of grounds are thrown into the trash, but could those grounds be the answer to your most common beauty needs? Below are three natural beauty remedies that will give you as much life as your morning coffee.
